Hola, Assalam
My entry today I would share some information about the Chinese New Year Celebrations. This new year celebrated by all the Chinese , whatever their religion- Ancestor Worship, Buddhism . Taoism or Christianity.
The celebration of this New Year is marks at the end of one lunar calendar year and greets the beginning of the next, and all Chinese join in the celebration!
As a rule, the Chinese work extremely hard the whole year through . The only tome that most Chinese take a short, well- earned break is during the Chinese New Year festivities. Here in Malaysia you will find that some Chinese-Malaysians do not turn up for work for as long as two or three weeks.
On the Chinese New Year eve, a reunion dinner is held which all family members must try to attend. This dinner is of utmost importance because it is the one occasion when everybody in the family can be together.
Finally, the Chinese New Year visits can go on until the fifteenth day of the new year. This fifteenth day is called Chap Goh Meh by the Hokkien that is one of the main Chinese dialect groups in Malaysia).
